Na-ha-shnee STEAM Summer Institute

Students from the Na-ha-shnee STEAM Summer Institute spent some time in the WSU College of Nursing Center for Experiential Learning. Students participated in hands-on activities with our mannikins and learned about wound care, and neonatal care.

Since 1995, Na-ha-shnee has provided Native American high school students from various tribes in the Northwest with a unique opportunity to explore careers in the health sciences. This year’s two-week summer camp is being held from July 17 to July 28, 2023 on the Washington State University (WSU) Spokane campus. The institute focused on health sciences and STEAM Health careers, providing research and learning opportunities. Na-ha-shnee represents a powerful platform for Native American youth to discover their potential and pursue fulfilling careers in the health sciences.
