College of Nursing Selects DEI Advocates

WSU College of Nursing December 2023 Diversity Advocates: Danielle Desormier, Colin Holt, Julie Postma, Mary Gonzalez, Aly Willard.

SPOKANE, Washington – The Washington State University (WSU) College of Nursing selected five applicants for the College’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Advocate Recognition program. DEI advocates must be a College of Nursing student, staff or faculty member who has completed 10 or more hours of education related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a minimum of one activity dedicated to Diversity, Equity or Inclusion at WSU within the past two years. Applications were reviewed by the DEI Advisory Council on December 15, 2022.

The following applicants were approved as DEI Advocates: 

  • Danielle Desormier, Staff 
  • Mary Gonzalez, Staff
  • Colin Holt, Student 
  • Julie Postma, Faculty  
  • Aly Willard, Faculty 

These advocates have performed a variety of activities to advance DEI initiatives including creating new ways to share DEI information, developing DEI curricula, serving on DEI-focused committees, and leading community projects focused on health disparities.
