WSU College of Nursing promotes diversity and an environment that embraces and honors all individuals. Everyone is encouraged to explore, understand, and appreciate similarities and differences including, but not limited to, abilities, age, culture, ethnicity, family structure, gender identity, geographical location, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, and spirituality.
An inclusive climate is fostered through education, practice, service, research, and initiatives to support the mission of the college. We are committed to actions that support the spirit of this resolution.
This statement was drafted by the Diversity Committee with input from students, staff, faculty, and administrators at Washington State University College of Nursing. It was approved by the faculty organization on May 7, 2013.
The College of Nursing Diversity Committee, a subcommittee of WSU Spokane Campus Diversity Committee, was founded in 1995 in an effort to support and promote diversity at the college. The committee is dedicated to reducing healthcare disparities through education and awareness, and by embracing diversity in practice. The committee coordinates diversity brown-bag lunch events that cover topics related to diversity challenges, successes, and timely issues. These events are open to all WSU and EWU faculty, staff, and students.
To view upcoming diversity events, refer to the WSU Spokane calendar of events.
