Dr. Connie Kim Yen Nguyen-Truong, appointed to the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) Committee of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN).

Dr. Connie Kim Yen Nguyen-Truong’s has been appointed to the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusivity (EDI) Committee of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN). Dr. Nguyen-Truong, an esteemed Associate Professor within WSU’s College of Nursing, has been invited for the 2023 – 2025 term.

Dr. Nguyen-Truong’s appointment to the AAN EDI Committee is a testament to her unwavering commitment to advancing the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion. As an academic leader, she has a distinguished track record of leading grant-funded community-based participatory research, community participatory action research, and community-engaged research and scholarship. Her work has consistently centered on empowering marginalized communities, particularly Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, Micronesian, and Pacific Islanders, with a profound impact on issues related to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and justice.

In addition to her role on the AAN EDI Committee, Dr. Nguyen-Truong has been recognized as an invited Community Engagement Advocate for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI).
