Sarah Fincham is a Clinical Associate Professor and the Department Chair of Advanced Practice and Community-Based Care at Washington State University. Holding a post-masters Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Rush University, she specializes in systems leadership. With a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and a Family Nurse Practitioner track from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Illinois Wesleyan University, Fincham has cultivated a robust educational background.

In addition to her academic role, Fincham is actively engaged in clinical practice, focusing on college student health and eating disorders. Her clinical expertise spans women’s health, adolescent health, immunization education, wellness promotion, and effective patient-provider communication. Fincham’s research interests cover a broad spectrum, from HPV vaccine education to DNP student education and communicable diseases, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice.

Beyond her academic and clinical contributions, Fincham is a member of prominent nursing organizations and has received recognition for her leadership. Her involvement in funded research projects, such as the Washington State University Advanced Nursing Practice initiative, underscores her commitment to addressing health care disparities. As a dedicated educator, clinician, and researcher, Sarah Fincham is making significant strides in advancing nursing education and improving health care outcomes.
