Julie Postma, PhD, RN, professor at the Washington State University College of Nursing, has been selected for induction as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.
Postma is part of the Academy’s 2026 Class of Fellows, a national and international cohort of nurse leaders recognized for their contributions to improving health outcomes and transforming health and health care. The class includes fellows from 39 states, the District of Columbia and 17 countries.
She will be inducted during the Academy’s Health Policy Conference, held Oct. 8-10, 2026, in Washington, D.C. New fellows officially become Academy Fellows following the Induction Ceremony and Soiree on Oct. 10.
Dr. Postma is a national expert in environmental health nursing whose scholarship integrates social drivers of health, such as housing and occupation, with environmental exposures reflecting our changing climate (e.g. wildfire smoke, heat).
