Tracy Klein named assistant director of WSU cannabis center

Associate Professor Tracy Klein of the WSU College of Nursing-Vancouver has been named assistant director of the WSU Center for Cannabis Policy, Research and Outreach.  

Professor David Gang, of the WSU College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, has been named director of the center.  

Together, Klein and Gang succeed Professor Michael McDonnell of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in leading the Center for Cannabis Policy, Research and Outreach.  

The center consists of more than 70 researchers across the WSU system whose work fits generally into four themes: improving health and wellbeing; public policy and safety; economics; and agricultural research.  

Both Klein and Gang will serve three-year terms leading the center.  

Dr. Klein is a Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice as well as policy analysis and development. She is also completing a master’s degree in pharmacy at the University of Maryland College of Pharmacy, focusing on medical cannabis therapeutics and science.
