Welcome Preceptors

Thank you for your interest in serving as a clinical preceptor for a Washington State University (WSU) College of Nursing student. Our clinical preceptors are partners in the academic process, playing a key role in preparing future advanced practice nurse leaders through their commitment to excellence, professional service, and community engagement. Together, we can improve the health of our communities.

WSU’s DNP program provides education and training for bachelor’s- and master’s-prepared nurses interested in a doctoral degree in the areas of Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Population Health Nurse. You’ll find additional information on this website about our programs and resources for both new and experienced clinical preceptors.

Kathryn Brault, a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Tri-Cities, is a preceptor for the WSU College of Nursing. She precepts students at her specialty clinic for diabetes patients in Richland, and at Grace Clinic, which provides free health care to people in need. Why does she do it?

“I love what I do, and I want other people to see how rewarding it can be.”
