Required Information for New Hires

The WSU College of Nursing requires a satisfactory background check on file, run through HRS, before employment can be confirmed. A background check is required for all faculty and staff positions and may also be required for temporary/hourly positions based on duties. This is a college-level requirement.

Faculty Appointments
  • Vita
  • 3 letters of recommendation (4 letters are required for those being appointed with tenure)
  • Signed offer letter
Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant
  • Vita
  • Signed offer letter
A/P or Civil Service
  • Application
  • Résumé
  • Cover letter
  • Contact information for references
  • Signed offer letter (for A/P)
All new employees must complete (no later than the first day of employment)

Please note that the new employee cannot be entered into myWSU, be given a WSU ID, or obtain an email/NID/phone until the I-9 is completed. Information on the I-9 is needed in order to enter the employee into myWSU and obtain a WSU ID.

Temporary Appointments (timeslip/student hourly)
  • Background check if the employee will have unsupervised access to anyone under the age of 18 or vulnerable adults or as required by grant.
  • Completed and signed temporary employment request authorization form
  • All new employees must complete (no later than the first day of employment)
