NPWeek November 8-14, 2026 with WSU Cougar statue in the background.

During Nurse Practitioner Week, November 8–14, Washington State University College of Nursing is highlighting the people, education, and support behind the Coug nursing community.

The week’s features bring together student and alumni perspectives, scholarship stories, and examples of Doctor of Nursing Practice projects. These stories offer readers a closer look at the people pursuing advanced nursing education and the experiences that shape their professional goals.

Scholarship features include Marisol Gutierrez and the Heather Desmarais scholarship, along with LeeAnna Smith and the Trude Smith Scholarship. Additional nurse practitioner profiles include Ryan Hunt, Audra Podruzny, and the two sisters journeying toward their DNP together, alongside a essay feature by Courtney Polimeni.

The collection also explores DNP projects and the role of graduate nursing education. Together, the features provide opportunities to learn about individual journeys, discover the college’s programs, and recognize the support that helps students continue their education.

Join the college throughout the week as it celebrates Coug nurse practitioners and shares the stories behind their work.
