Coug Nurses In the News: DNP Nursing Student Helps Manage In-Flight Medical Emergency

On a recent airline flight, Audra Podruzny ’12, MSN, RN, CPAN, who is presently a student in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Washington State University College of Nursing, and her husband, alum Scott Podruzny ’12, BSN, RN, were called into action when an elderly man on board suffered a head injury. With limited medical supplies, they quickly controlled the bleeding and kept the man stable until the plane landed, demonstrating their adaptability and quick thinking in a high-stress situation.
