A group of nursing students from Iwate Prefectural University School of Nursing in Japan visited Spokane, WA, for a week-long program at the WSU College of Nursing. Their schedule was packed with educational and extracurricular activities, including lectures, campus tours, and hands-on experiences in various medical settings. They engaged in a variety of school activities, such as attending a health equity class, participating in simulation lab tours, and visiting local healthcare facilities like the Ronald McDonald House and Salish School. Extracurricular highlights included exploring Spokane’s Riverfront Square Mall, attending a Spokane Chiefs game, experiencing a tea ceremony, and enjoying a scenic hot cocoa cruise in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The visit ended in a home visit dinner hosted by faculty, providing a unique cultural exchange opportunity.
