Graduating prepared nurse leaders
The WSU College of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree prepares students for a lifelong career in nursing practice. During the first two years of the curriculum, prerequisites and general university requirements are completed at Eastern Washington University, Whitworth University, Washington State University, or any institution offering equivalent courses. The last two years are completed at WSU College of Nursing in Spokane, Tri-Cities, or Yakima, Washington.
About the BSN Program
The BSN program emphasizes sound clinical decision-making skills, nursing care quality, and patient safety by preparing students with a blend of course work, skills practice, simulation, and clinical experience. Students begin by learning foundational skills and theories in program courses. Critical thinking and skills application are honed in simulated scenarios while working alongside preceptors in safe, controlled environments. During their education, students log more than 950 clinical hours and thousands of hours in the practice and simulation lab preparing them for a successful career in nursing.
The BSN program is currently offered at Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Yakima.
Students must have junior standing and have completed WSU’s General Education Requirements (GERs) and the College of Nursing’s prerequisite courses. View other pre-application requirements or contact a BSN pre-nursing advisor.
