College Success Foundation Achievers Program
This program is for students who have never attended college before and for whom this would be their first bachelor’s degree.
CSF Participants are high-achieving students from low-income families aspiring to earn a baccalaureate degree. In addition to receiving scholarship support to make college more affordable, students are also provided with holistic advising and programming which includes academic advising, career development, financial-aid planning, individual support, and social activities.
College Bound Program
This program is for students who have never attended college before and for whom this would be their first bachelor’s degree.
The College Bound Scholarship program is an early commitment of state financial aid to eligible students who sign up in middle school and fulfill the scholarship pledge.
TRiO
This program is for students who have never attended college before and for whom this would be their first bachelor’s degree.
TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded TRIO program committed to the success of first-generation, low-income, and/or students with disabilities. SSS programs offer opportunities for academic development, assists students in meeting basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students towards the successful completion of their postsecondary education through providing a wide range of valuable services and resources for students in the program, including academic advising and tutoring, special courses, career guidance, and college success workshops. More than 202,000 students are now being served by 1,069 Student Support Service programs at colleges and universities nationwide. Recent studies of Student Support Services found that program participation resulted in statistically significant higher rates of student retention and transfer, improved grade point averages, and credit accumulation. Program participants also bested their similarly situated peers in degree completion at both two-year colleges (41% vs. 28%) and four-year colleges (48% vs. 40%). Here at WSU, we have 6 SSS programs at various campuses across the system.
Cougs Rise
This program is high school specific and is for individuals who attended one of the following high schools:
- Bremerton High School
- Hudson’s Bay High School
- John R Rogers High School
- University High School
- Wenatchee High School
Cougs Rise works with low income and first gen students as they transition to college, providing support to finish high school strong and start their higher education journey successfully. The program assists students with the process of going to college (financial aid applications, admission, registration, housing, etc.), and provide transitioning students with a mentor who is a current Coug and had similar experiences along their journey.
College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)
This program is for students who have never attended college before and for whom this would be their first bachelor’s degree.
This program is only for students who are not international students and attended WSU on the Pullman Campus.
The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program designed to support students and immediate family members from migrant and/or seasonal farmworker backgrounds (or children of such workers) during their freshman year in college. Eligibility includes at least 75 days of seasonal employment in the United States harvesting produce, working in seasonal dairy jobs, caring for poultry, livestock production, trees or fish farming. CAMP provides students with financial and academic support services aimed at increasing student success in higher education.
