The Journey of a Nursing Student: From Niigata City to WSU

Toshi Shimizu, a nursing student at Washington State University (WSU), shares a personal journey that transcends borders, cultures, and life-changing decisions. For several years, Shimizu dedicated himself to his family, staying home with the children until an unprecedented global event shifted his perspective and goals. The outbreak of COVID-19, a crisis that placed healthcare workers at the forefront of combating the pandemic, deeply inspired Shimizu.
