Student FAQs about Exxat
How can I get access to Exxat?
The WSU team will create an Exxat account for you upon admission and will send you an email invite to the Exxat system. The email invite will come from Exxat and have a link to activate your Exxat account. Once you activate your account, you will have access. From that point forward, you will use your WSU Log in credentials to log into Exxat.
What to do if I can’t find my Exxat invite?
Sometimes the Exxat invite email goes into the student’s junk or spam folder. If you still can’t find it, contact the Exxat System Administrator, who can resend the email invitation.
I’ve activated my Exxat account, but when I try to log in, Exxat tells me I don’t have an active account.
Contact the Exxat System Administrator who will help troubleshoot.
What am I responsible for in Exxat?
You are responsible for completing the learning activities associated with the course(s) you are enrolled in. The required learning activities depend on the program and type of course.
MN/DNP Students
I’ve been locked out and cannot enter my time or complete patient logs (graduate students only).
After your clinical/practicum day, there is a 7-day window for you to submit your log. Once that 7-day window passes, you will be locked out. Do everything you can to complete your logs in a timely manner. If you need to complete logs after the 7-day window, contact your instructor to request an extension.
My preceptor or some other detail about my placement has changed. How can I get that fixed?
If ANY details about your placement have changed (new preceptor or site, splitting time at two sites, etc), please reach out to your Clinical Placement Coordinator right away, and they can modify the placement to be accurate in the system.
I can’t see my placement when I log into Exxat.
If you can’t see your placement in Exxat, it’s because the placement hasn’t been created in the Exxat system yet. This could be because the placement coordinator is still finalizing details of your placement, such as onboarding is still in process or a current contract is not yet in place. Contact your campus Clinical Placement Coordinator , who can provide more information.
My name, phone number, or other personal information has changed. How can I get my profile updated?
You can make changes to your name in your student profile. From the Exxat home page, click ‘edit profile’ to make the changes . Be sure to save your changes! Refer to the student video training for more information on editing your personal information.
I’m a graduate student and want to know the status of my non-direct care placement and when I can start.
Apart from the DNP project courses, most non-direct care placements are secured by the student after the semester starts. All non direct care courses require the student to complete an online form to give details of their placement. From there, the WSU CON team checks the contract and ensures onboarding is completed before creating the placement in Exxat. If you do not see your placement in Exxat, please contact your campus Clinical Placement Coordinator to check on the status of your placement.
I see my placement, but I can’t see my learning activities (time tracking, patient logs or evals).
On rare occasions, learning activities for a course don’t appear for some students when they log in. Please contact the Exxat System Administrator to help resolve the issue.
I’ve completed all my time tracking logs and hours for the course, but my course instructor says that some of my logs are showing as ‘in progress’. What does this mean?
‘In progress’ means that the student ‘saved’, but did not ‘submit’ a log. The save button is meant to be used when the student has started a log but wants to come back and finish it later. Sometimes the student inadvertently selects ‘save’ when they intended to ‘submit’. Reopen the log and review-if it is accurate and complete, select the submit button. If you are past the 7 day logging window and it will not allow you to submit, please reach out to your instructor to request an extension of the logging window.

Faculty FAQs about Exxat
How can I get access to Exxat?
The Exxat system administrator or campus placement coordinator will create an Exxat account when they’ve been notified that you will be course or placement faculty for a course that is tracked in Exxat. They will also send you an email invite to the Exxat system. The email invite will come from Exxat and have a link to activate your Exxat account. Once you activate your account, you will have access. From that point forward, you will use your WSU Log in credentials to log into Exxat. Refer to the Faculty Video Training above for a step-by-step guide.
What should I do if I can’t find my Exxat invite?
Sometimes the Exxat invite email goes into the faculty’s junk or spam folder. If you still can’t find it, contact the Exxat System Administrator , who can resend the invitation.
I’ve activated my Exxat account, but when I try to log in, Exxat tells me I don’t have an active account.
Contact the WSU CON Exxat System Administrator, who can help you troubleshoot.
When I log into Exxat, why can’t I see the students assigned to me?
This is usually due to the placement not being created yet. This could be because placement hasn’t been secured yet, a placement has fell through, onboarding hasn’t been completed, or a current contract is not yet in place. It’s also possible that an incorrect faculty member has been linked to the student placement. Sometimes this occurs when faculty assignments change after placements are created. Contact your campus Clinical Placement Coordinator who can provide more information.
My student says they’ve completed all their logs, but there are several logs ‘in process’ that I can’t view or approve. What does this mean?
The ‘in progress’ status means the student completed at least some of the fields in the time tracking log but have not yet completed the final step of submitting the log. Advise them to go back into Exxat to submit the logs. If it is past the 7-day window, they may need to contact the Exxat System Administrator to expand the logging window.
What am I responsible for in Exxat?
