- Teaching Assistant Professor, Spokane
Biography
Emily started her nursing career in an Emergency Department in downtown Seattle, Washington. Her passion for teaching sparked during her Emergency Department residency program where she had the opportunity to learn from and interact with multiple nurse educators, paving the way and supporting her transition to practice. Emily enjoyed the humbling opportunity to work in the Emergency Department and later transitioned to the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) where her knowledge and expertise in post-surgery care grew. In the PACU, Emily advanced her career and poured into others by precepting nursing students, new nurses, and was the charge nurse for the inpatient PACU. Emily applied her love for learning after receiving her MSN (Master’s of Science in Nursing) by serving as a perioperative nurse educator at a hospital in Central Washington and began teaching at WSU College of Nursing in 2019.
