Consequences of Trauma: Pain and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
October 23 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Join Sheila Rauch, PhD, ABPP of Emory University for an in-depth exploration of the complex relationship between trauma, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This live virtual event will discuss the neurobiological overlap between chronic pain and PTSD, explore how each condition affects the other, and examine how they collectively impact treatment and outcomes. Participants will gain insights into the co-occurrence of these conditions and explore new directions in their treatment.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize how both chronic pain and PTSD can result from trauma exposure and how their presentations are related.
- Evaluate how PTSD and its treatment can impact the experience of chronic pain during treatment and after.
- Evaluate how chronic pain and its treatment can impact the experience of PTSD during treatment and after.
