Department Chair

Dr. Marian Wilson is the Nursing and Systems Science Department Chair at Washington State University’s College of Nursing in Spokane, where she also serves as an Associate Professor and Community Engagement Advocate.

Dr. Wilson holds a PhD in Nursing from WSU and is board certified in Pain Management Nursing. Her research focuses on chronic pain management, with an emphasis on non-pharmacologic interventions and improving sleep, particularly among populations dealing with opioid use and addiction. She has led numerous funded research projects, including the development of internet-based self-management programs for patients with chronic pain. Dr. Wilson is a core faculty member of WSU’s Program of Excellence in Addictions Research and the Sleep and Performance Research Center, and her work is widely published in leading nursing and pain management journals.
