TCU offering gerontological nursing symposium

Texas Christian University’s Harris College of Nursing and Health Sciences is offering the Hogstel Gerontological Nursing Symposium in January. The event is free for students, with 4.5 contact hours available for faculty and others.

Students, faculty, family care partners, and community members are welcome.  Please email bmastelsmith@uttyler.edu for an access code for free student participation.

When: Online, three Saturday mornings in January from 10:30am to 12:00pm (CST)

January 16:  Dr. Anne Basting, scholar and artist, will talk about ways to engage people with cognitive disabilities and dementia.

January 23:  Teepa Snow, Occupational Therapist and international educator on dementia, will share tips for caring during a pandemic.

January 30:  Dr. Cynthia Huling Hummel, a Presbyterian pastor, author, and life-long learner, will share her inspiring story about living with dementia.
