Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to clients of all ages. This is a private practice position, and can be full- or part-time.
Duties:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with mental health disorders
- Prescribe and manage medications
- Provide therapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Experience:
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- Previous experience as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Doctor of Nursing Practice is preferred
- Familiarity with family planning, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluation
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Proficiency in medical record documentation and coding
- Understanding of nursing home regulations and practices
- Strong knowledge of human physiology and mental health disorders
Requirements:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Washington
- Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
