CDHD is looking for a dynamic and experienced Public Health Nurse – Maternal and Child Health to join a team dedicated to improving the health of women, infants, children, youth, and their families throughout Chelan-Douglas County. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience working in the public health sector as a community health nurse.
A snapshot of your responsibilities
• Establishing and meeting timelines, quality and quantity of work for a program.
• Assess and advise staff of community and public agency resources for clients and their families.
• Plans and conducts studies related to the program they supervise to determine the community needs for existing or potential services.
• Coordinates program work with other program leaders, supervisory staff, and officials of other agencies.
• Participates with other agencies to plan collaborative services and improve systems delivery for the community and assumes a lead role when needed.
• Meets strategic needs and develops future strategic and operational plans.
• Provides care coordination for children with special healthcare needs.
Maternal Child Health Block Grant (MCHBG) duties: Serves as the lead for the MCHBG work:
o Serves as Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Coordinator
o Perform Public Health Services and Systems work collaborate with state and local partners to address MCH essential services (i.e. access to care, investigate health problems, inform & educate the public, engage community partners, promote evidence-based practices.
WorkFirst Evaluation Duties:
Conduct and submit nursing evaluations for WorkFirst referrals per contract requirements.
Childcare Consultation Duties:
Provide technical and clinical guidance to contracted childcare centers caring for infants within
Chelan- Douglas counties.
What we require
RN Licensure – must have a valid license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the State of Washington,
If not must obtain a license by date of hire.
Continuing education required per RN Licensure.
Strong computer knowledge required including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
