CDHD is looking for a dynamic and experienced Communicable Disease Investigator to join a team dedicated to community disease identification, treatment and prevention of communicable disease throughout Chelan-Douglas County. The ideal candidate will have experience working in public health, and knowledge of immunizations, disease control, and investigation in a community health program.

Snap shot of your responsibilities

• Conducts/oversees investigations to locate cases and contacts of communicable diseases and notifiable non-communicable diseases. Interviews patients to determine contacts, locating and tracing contacts.
• Educates individuals who suffer from a communicable or non-communicable disease on the nature and control of their disease and on risk reduction techniques and behaviors.
• Respond to communicable disease outbreaks, including but not limited to, assisting agency staff with emergency preparedness within the Chelan-Douglas Counties. Serve as part of the CDHD Incident Command System during an emergency.
• Maintain knowledge of current guidance on the outbreak disease, including mitigation strategies such as isolation and quarantine, case investigation, contact tracing, and outbreak investigation.
• Subject matter expert for notifiable conditions, generating synthesized key messages and information to give to Public Information Officer (PIO) during emergency response situations.
• Represent CDHD in local, regional, and state forums and workgroups.

What we require
Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in WA, or ability to obtain licensure upon hire
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution, or ability to obtain a BSN in the next 12 months.
