If so, we encourage you to apply for an exciting and unique opportunity at our mental health clinic specializing in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS is a non-invasive and medication-free technology invented in 1985 that was approved by the FDA in 2008 as an effective intervention for treatment-resistant major depression. Since 2008, TMS has also received FDA-approval for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxious depression, smoking cessation and this just represents the tip of the iceberg regarding the potential of TMS to treat mental disorders.
Responsibilities:
– Interview new patients and write-up intake assessments in a timely manner
– Administer TMS Brain Mapping/Motor Threshold determination as well as TMS treatments as need (training will be provided) according to specific physician protocols
– Screen patients over the phone for TMS eligibility according to clinical and insurance-based criteria
– Assess and monitor all aspects of TMS treatment for patient comfort, reliability, and accuracy
– Provide psychiatric medication management services to a small caseload of patients (Supervision and training from our Medical Director and board-certified psychiatrist is available)
– Answer and promptly respond to phone calls, emails, and social media
– Monitor and follow-up with TMS authorization requests submitted to insurance companies
– Administer psychiatric rating scales and counsel patients on the results of these scales
– Document medication management and TMS treatment notes in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) in a prompt and timely manner
– Schedule patients using EMR and scheduling software (Training provided)
– Frequently communicate and consult with our treatment staff, including a psychiatrist, a clinical psychologist, a physician assistant, and TMS Technicians
– Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
– Candidates should have a current license as an Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in Washington State
– A psychiatric ARNP is preferred but not required (Training and supervision from our Medical Director and board-certified psychiatrist is available)
– Excellent bed-side manner with our patients and the communication skills and ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary team in a medical clinic
– Reliability, organizational skills and a strong work ethic
