Connie Nguyen-Truong honored by Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization

Connie Nguyen-Truong received the prestigious Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization Honor in Leadership, Innovation, and Science in 2022.

IRCO continues to be an important community research partner with Washington State University and College of Nursing. It’s one of the largest community-based organizations in the country serving immigrants and refugees, and has reach throughout southwest Washington. 

Nguyen-Truong’s most significant contributions are innovative anti-racism advocacy, inclusive excellence community-based participatory research (CBPR), and radical anti-racist educational cultural wealth curricula. 

She has mentored students across RN-BSN, MN, and PhD programs in partnership with IRCO. Currently, she’s working with a DNP student on project planning with IRCO, and with PhD students in Nursing and Prevention Science in anti-racism research, including with IRCO.
