Zach Smith (BSN ‘09), RN
Zach Smith, BSN, RN, graduated from the WSU College of Nursing in 2009 right as the Great Recession was peaking and new grad jobs were disappearing. This led to a 6-year bedside career with stints in a SNF, ICU, Adult MedSurg, and Pediatrics, only to be followed by a career in nursing beyond the bedside. Zach helped create, grow, and sell a health tech company called NurseGrid and is now doing the same with a nurse footwear company named BALA. Zach will speak about his nursing career path, how he found his own strengths amid setbacks, and opportunities for nurses to extend their careers with non-traditional positions.
