SUMMARY:Exploring the 2026 AACN Essentials: Aligning Nursing Education with the ACE Framework
DESCRIPTION:This webinar will provide an overview of the revised 2026 AACN Essentials and their alignment with the Access\, Connection\, and Engagement (ACE) Framework. Participants will explore the rationale for revising the Essentials\, examine key updates and language changes\, and discuss how the ACE Framework can be leveraged to support student success\, workforce readiness\, and stronger academic-practice partnerships. DESCRIPTION:A free\, family-friendly gathering in support of International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31. \nRegistration not required. \nHosted by Overdose and Substance Misuse Prevention Coordinator\, Amanda Dugger\, the idea and name for the event came from a sleepless night a few years ago while reflecting on her personal experience with loss due to substance misuse. \n“Healing Hands” is a chance for those affected by substance misuse\, whether personally or through the loss of a friend or loved one\, to honor their memory or find personal healing. \n“Creative Hearts” is a nod to the creativity and artistic outlets that many people use throughout their recovery journey. \nThe event will feature: \n\nA resource fair\nLive performers\nFun activities\nPanel with guest speakers\, including:Kitara Johnson-Jones\nGabriel’s Challenge\, CEO \nBrenton Sconce (pre-recorded message) \nBEAR Foundation\, Founder \nCommunity Members with Lived Experiences:\nDarrel\, Nick\, and Christine\n\nAttendees will also be invited to create memorial lanterns in honor of loved ones. These lanterns will serve as symbols of love\, remembrance\, and resilience and will be displayed at the Central Library on International Overdose Awareness Day\, with participants’ permission.
