DESCRIPTION:Course Description\nThis course is designed for a nurse with a BSN who wants to prepare for certification as a school nurse. Topics include the role of the school nurse\, schools and society\, growth and development\, learning strategies\, school law\, and the legal and professional responsibilities of the ESA-prepared school nurse. This hybrid course incorporates independent study and classroom instruction. Independent study course materials are to be completed and submitted to the faculty prior to the dates of classroom instruction for evaluation. \nThe WSU College of Nursing is approved as a provider of clock hours by the Washington State Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction. \nCourse Dates\nThe next session for the course will be offered via virtual classroom using Zoom. Event parking is free. \n  \nGrad Checklist\nTo earn your degree and take part in Commencement\, there are two required steps. Applying for your degree and registering to walk in the ceremony are separate processes\, and both must be completed if you plan to participate. \nApply for your degree\nSubmitting a graduation application confirms that you are completing your degree requirements and allows your degree to be awarded. \nApply by March 6 to be included in the Commencement program. \nA $60 application/processing fee is required. Applications submitted after March 6 will include a $75 late fee.
