Learning Innovation Team Presentation

Presenters are members of the AOI Learning Innovations team, made up of instructional designers, media developers and producers, and emerging technologists with a focus on technology mediate instruction. Our purpose is to support all WSU faculty in the application of academic technologies that enhance teaching and learning. All team members have educational backgrounds in fields related to teaching with technology and most have experience teaching in higher ed. We offer faculty development, training and workshop opportunities as well as 1:1 support for course design.
Dr. Rebecca Van de Vord
Currently serves as Assistant Vice President for Academic Outreach and Innovation and Director of Learning Innovations, as well as Liaison to the Provost’s Office for Teaching Innovation. Rebecca has been with AOI (previously the Center for Distance and Professional Education) 10 years beginning in 2007 after earning a graduate certificate in instructional design for WSU.
Her BS is in nutrition, MA and Ph.D. in Communication with a focus on health communication.
Ruth Gregory (MFA, MA) is an Emerging Technology and Multimedia Specialist with Academic Outreach and Innovation and an education professional with over fifteen years of experience teaching multimedia to diverse student populations. An award-winning filmmaker, Gregory specializes in pedagogy and best practices for creating effective video, animation, and interactive media for classes.
As a long time instructional designer at WSU, Theron has designed and produced numerous online courses for a wide range of programs. His responsibilities include identifying innovative practices and tools that prepare and support faculty teaching with technology.
