Cleveland Visiting Scholar

WSU College of Nursing welcomes Angela Barron McBride, PhD, RN, FAAN, as our 20th visiting scholar in honor of Dean Emerita Thelma Cleveland.
Dr. McBride, a Distinguished Professor and University Dean Emeritus at the Indiana School of Nursing, will discuss “Sustaining Career Optimism – A Leadership Essential.” She will cover strategies for learning and maintaining optimism at different stages of a nursing career, and how a positive attitude can help shape events. Dr. McBride’s 2011 book, “The Growth and Development of Nurse Leaders,” won a top honor for professional and scholarly works, and she’s known for her contributions to women’s health and to psychiatric-mental health nursing. She has served as president of nursing’s international honor society and of the American Academy of Nursing; the latter organization named her a “Living Legend” in 2006.
