Lisa Vickers has served in the nursing field for more than 25 years. She started her career in acute care, working in the areas of Ortho/Neuro/Pediatrics, Oncology and Critical Care (ACU/ICU/ER). Lisa then went on to be a Public Health Nurse at New HOPE Clinic serving individuals living with HIV/AIDS. From this experience, she was called to go on more for more education and earned her Master’s of Nursing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in 2005. Since 2005, Lisa has worked with people managing mental health disorders in the Community Mental Health and Private Practice settings. In addition, Lisa has developed a passion for working with nursing students. She feels strongly about non-judgmental nursing care and cultural diversity. Her professional focuses include ethics, Motivational Interviewing and prevention of compassion fatigue through continuing education and self care.
