Nurse Faculty Loan Program

America has a nurse faculty shortage

The good news: You can help by learning to teach the next generation of nurses.
The better news: WSU College of Nursing has a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration that can help pay for your MN, DNP, or PhD degree.

The Washington State University College of Nursing Nurse Faculty Loan Program offers a new loan-forgiveness program for graduate nursing students.

If you’re pursuing an MN, DNP or PhD degree, you could borrow up to $35,000 per year under the federal program. In return, you agree to teach full-time for at least four years after you graduate. At the end of that time, 85 percent of your loan will be forgiven, and you’ll owe just 3 percent interest on the balance.

The loan can be used for tuition, books, fees, laboratory expenses and other reasonable education expenses. Funds cannot be used for personal living expenses.

To qualify, students must be enrolled in a course of study in an advanced education nursing degree program, and must be a U.S. citizen, a non-citizen national, or a foreign national with a visa permitting permanent residence in the U.S.
