Message from the DNP Director

Dr. Anne Mason

Welcome to the WSU Doctor of Nursing Practice program!  We are excited that you have chosen to attend the Washington State University College of Nursing.

The College is excited to celebrate its 50th birthday during the 2019-2020 Academic year. Currently more than 185 registered nurses are actively engaged in academic study for the DNP degree at the college. They are pursuing specialties as family nurse practitioners, psychiatric nurse practitioners, population health nurses, and post-master’s DNPs.

We celebrated our largest graduating class so far in May 2019. These doctorally-prepared nurses will positively impact the clinical environments in which they work, the patients they care for and carry the WSU vision into the future. Nurse practitioners in particular now number more than 270,00 nationwide and have tremendous opportunities in expanding primary care access.  DNP-prepared nurses are in high demand and are making significant differences in transforming practice, and you will too. It’s an exciting time in nursing, especially for graduate-prepared nurses.

We are thrilled to have you and look forward to seeing where your future as a WSU graduate-prepared nurse takes you.

Go Cougs!
