Dr. Diede completed her PhD in Nursing at the Washington State University College of Nursing under the guidance of Dr. Billie Severtsen. She is board certified as a Medical-Surgical Nurse from the American Nurses Credentialing Center and as a Clinical Nurse Leader from the American Association of the Colleges of Nursing. She has worked as a staff nurse in a variety of a acute care units. She has experience as a nurse scientist leading research in philosophical hermeneutic phenomenology as well as other qualitative methods. She has presented research based on her work with nurses working in the hospital environment. Her research interests including nurse workforce issues including professional identity, safety and power inequalities as well as nursing education strategies.
