Melody Rasmor

Dr. Melody Rasmor received her BSN from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington and her Master’s of Science from University of Portland in 1982. She recently completed her EdD from Washington State University, College of Educational Doctorate. She has been an invited speaker at the SEAK and American Association of Occupational Health Nurses National Conference, on “Health Assessment.” Melody is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Occupational Community Health Nurse with over thirty years of experience. Melody has been employed as an Assistant Clinical Professor at Washington State University for the past 12 years. In addition, she has consulted with national companies such as Levi Strauss & Company and Isenhagen Workplace Wellness to develop a training program around reduction of work related injuries and preventive ergonomic & health problems. More locally she has worked with Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Bemis Bag Inc., and Tetra-Pak on occupational health projects. She formerly worked for the Veteran’s Administration where she developed a Hospital Employee Health Program for 3000 employees and staff. Most recently, Ms. Rasmor has published two articles in AAOHN Journal on Health Assessment for the Occupational Health Nurse. In 1991 during Desert Storm and 2005 during Operation Iraqi Freedom she served as a deployed Nurse Practitioner for the US Army and is now retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Finally, she has worked locally as a Nurse Case Manager/Consultant, Family Nurse Practitioner with a specialization in Occupational Medicine. For the past 8 years she has coordinated the WSU/Battleground Sports Physicals and continues to look for ways to serve the community health needs of the Southwest/Clark County Washington. Most recently, Melody has been selected by the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation to be a part of the Edmund J. Safra Visiting Nurse Faculty Program. She is received training at both Parkinson centers Mohammed Ali Clinic in Phoenix Arizona and Oregon Health Sciences Research Center, Portland, OR. Research
