Alternate Pathway to MN Program

Alternate Pathway MN for RNs with BA/BS
The Alternate Pathway to MN Program is designed for RNs with a BA/BS in another field. RNs interested in the Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program must have 6 months of full-time employment as an RN before being considered for this program. RNs interested in the FNP and Community Based Population Focused MN programs are reviewed on an individual basis when making application to this program.
RNs consult with RNB Advisors for transcript review and individualized student planning to complete courses pre-requisite to the RN to BSN program. In addition, RNs complete two WSU ICN courses with a B or higher grade. The courses are taught online or in the AMS classrooms across the state:
- WSU/ICN Nurs 360 Professional Issues (2 semester credits)
- WSU/ICN Nurs 440 Community Health Theory (2 semester
credits)
RNB advisors assist RNs with the application process to the Alternate Pathway program.
To apply to the Alternate Pathway
program:
- Contact an RNB Advisor prior to making
application to WSU and to ICN.
- Provide transcripts for all college course work
- Document current practice and licensure
- Meet nursing pre-requisites for RN to BSN program

- Recent history taking and physical assessment skills
- Application to WSU graduate school and to ICN graduate program
