- Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Post-Master's DNP applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in nursing or another field and a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher in bachelor’s program.
- Completion of a general upper division or graduate level statistics course.
- Written goal statement congruent with program’s philosophy and focus.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) for applicants from countries where English is not the primary language.
- Official GRE Analytical Writing scores taken within the last five years. Washington State University's code is 4705. Visit our GRE FAQs page for more information.
- Official transcripts from all previous college work.
PRACTICE/PROFESSIONAL
- One year of full-time nursing practice.
- Curriculum Vitae or resume.
- Proof of Washington State registered nurse (RN) licensure.
PUBLICATIONS
- Submission of scholarly work.
REFERENCES/INTERVIEWS
- Three letters of reference.
- Successful completion of a written admission interview (phone or in person for some specialties).
Upon admission to the College of Nursing, students are required to submit evidence of CPR certification, immunization records, and complete tuberculosis testing, which must be obtained prior to entering the nursing program.
A clinical background check is required upon admission. Clinical placement is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background clearance.
